“It was an amazing week,” says Rod, “maybe my best week’s fishing ever.”Together with long-time friend and carp angler, Hull-based Ian Coates, they caught 22 carp up to Rod’s new PB – a 65lb mirror. The DVD was shot at Les Graviers, Luke Moffatt's spectacular lake near Dijon, France. Of the 22 caught, Ian Coates had 6 and Rod 16. The majority of these were caught on camera.

hitthenail is a video production, multimedia and event management company based in Bath, UK. Its two prinicipal partners, Editor and co- producer Martin Veal and producer/director Rupert Kirkham have both been in the business for over 20 years.

‘Back on the Rods’ is the company’s second major production about carp angling. “Most of the scenes in this double DVD we shot on 2 cameras,” says, Rupert Kirkham, “We tried to give Rod and Ian 24-hour coverage, so we didn’t miss any action – needless to say, we didn’t get much sleep that week! Actually, we caught almost as many on camera as they caught on their Rod Hutchinson Inspiration rods.”

The DVD features many interactive sections, or you can choose to put your feet up and watch the week unfold over two and a half hours.

Disc one covers the first 2 days of fishing and disc two days 3, 4 and 5. There are also extensive personal interviews with both Rod and Ian and tips on bait, location-finding and rig techniques.
